May. 28th, 2014 @ 06:04 pm Hi!
I hope it's ok to post about my own webcomic here. :-)

I have a webcomic called "Reality Challenged" here: rc_comic

This is a webcomic about Lizzie, a gothpunk geek/nerd gamer librarian, and her friends.
Lizzie is a punky-gothish, rpg gamer geek, sf, fantasy and horror fan & librarian.
She's an incurable dreamer, and her reality isn't always the same one as the "mainstream" version.
She's still not decided what she wants to be when she grows up... She'd really like to be a mage, though, or the captain of an interstellar spaceship. Or a dragon, that'd be awesome!
However, currently she's working in the university library's Special Collections. In the lower basement. Where there's little chance of her having to interact with customers. She was transferred to this department after a rather unfortunate incident with an annoying library user (involving 2 rubber bands, 2 paper clips, a AACR2 cataloguing rule book and a metal catalogue drawer pin.)

It's mostly random comics, episodes from Lizzie's life, and not any story line.
It's randomly updated.
This webcomic is something I just do for fun and because I like to draw; I'm not a great artist.

This is my latest strip: http://rc-comic.livejournal.com/6685.html

Mar. 18th, 2011 @ 02:32 pm My comic
Hi all

Here's my webcomic project, it has been going on for a while but now I've also made a livejournal version. It will be irregularly updated with new stuff.

Horror, gore, dark humor and silliness drawn in a somewhat naivish style. No advanced art, also no messages or story morale, it's simply done for fun. This comic is what happeend when I decided to just go ahead and draw stuff which pops up in my mind and I for whatever reason think is entertaining. Maybe somebody else likes it too, despite the result being somewhat weird.. (?)

Anyhow -

Planet Epituz" is a collection of short comic stories in some kind of future setting. Most is pretty similar to our world, but there are also certain new things.

the English may suck sometimes, since it's not my first language.

And Oh..
This journal may contain explicit adult content.
..Horror, blood, gore, etc.. So there you are warned.

Jan. 29th, 2011 @ 10:55 pm New to this community, introducing my webcomic
 Hey guys, I haven't really used my LJ in ages, but my girlfriend said it's fun to hang around communities;
I decided it'd be good to post in this one, having my own webcomic and all that. :)

Either way, I'm currently doing a pixelart-based fantasy webcomic that's entirely self-made (so no sonic and megaman sprites)

Either way, here's an example page to give you all an idea what it (currently!) looks like:

page of my comic.

Hope the style appeals. :)

And to avoid making this first post just an attempt at advertising, here's some pixel props that anyone can use
for whatever.

free props, use em as you wish.

For those who are interested/want to see more, the site's http://neorice.com
hope to see you guys around.

Also a p.s.; what are some interesting but fairly obscure webcomics currently out there?
If anyone knows a great but fairly unknown webcomic, I'd be curious in hearing about it. :)

It's that time of the year again!

If you'd like to join the Comic Creator's Alliance, you have until the end of the month to do so. More info about the project (it's for a good cause).

Here's my entry:

And yeah, I chose to do a character that's been seen in my story twice.

Hey guys. Just joined the community and I figured I'd share my comic. If you're an old-school webcomic fan, you may have heard of it back when it was on Keenspace/ComicGenesis, but it's now on its very own site and updating every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Here's a preview:

Treading Ground is a webcomic primarily about sex and supermarkets. It's occasionally NSFW, so keep that in mind if you decide to take a look.

Jul. 7th, 2010 @ 12:48 am The Dark Bane's Second chapter is now complete

The second chapter of my sword and sorcery webcomic, KnightQuest: The Dark Bane is done. In this chapter the star is Dame Vanessa Storm, Rybalt Witch Knight and personal agent to the Tarkolian emperor. Tales of gruesome, supernatural murders in a far off province continue to come into the imperial capital despite the local government sending back reports of that the murders have ended and everything is normal. With these conflicting reports, the emperor sends Dame Storm, his Lady Nemesis, to uncover the truth and eliminate any all threats to empire and his authority.

You can check out the first chapter, The Duke of War, as Rybalt Knight Rafael De La Rocha and his Hunter sister Diana, fight a tribe of orcs to save Queen Edolyn of Silverdrake. And you can also check out the current and third chapter, Queens and Hunters.

This week on my webcomic, one of the minor characters does a spell to create fire. He's done it before, on a page I did about a year ago. Back then, my webcomic creation tools were limited to the gimp. Now I've got a whole pantheon of tools: gims, Illustrator and Painter Essentials 4. I'm rather impressed with Painter Essentials (it came with my Bamboo Fun) and one of these days I hope to upgrade to the latest version (Painter X last time I checked, but maybe it's stepped a version already.)

Anyway, I want to talk about how I did the flames. I really like the effect that I got.

Especially compared with a year ago, which was created in the gimp, with a round brush set to about 35% transparency.

The top one: In Painter, I created a layer with purple paint for the flames, then put the blending mode to Divide. Viola!

How do you create flames?
